December 22, 2025
To my valued patients:
After many fulfilling years in the practice of Ophthalmology and Retina-Vitreous Surgery, I am writing to let you know that I will be retiring as of December 24, 2025 from the practice of Ophthalmology and Retina-Vitreous Surgery. I have taken great pleasure in providing for your eye care needs over the past many years. I am so grateful to all of you for allowing me the privilege and responsibility to be your physician and surgeon. I will surely miss the wonderful friendships that have developed over the past thirty years.
Dr. Tina Xia will continue to examine and to treat all my patients to allow for a seamless transfer of care. For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Xia, she has been working closely with me for the past four years and received her training at University of Pennsylvania in Retina and Vitreous diseases and surgeries. I am confident that Dr. Xia will deliver the same high-quality care that I’ve provided to you over the years as she is committed to the excellence and patient-centered care that our practice has always strived to provide. Dr. Xia will continue to have extended and accessible hours in both Livingston and Morristown offices.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our office and we will happily assist you. I, Dr. Xia, and the entire team at Retina Vitreous Consultants greatly value our relationship and we thank you for your continued support and friendship.
Sincerely,
Eric D. Kanter, M.D.
