Steven B. Cohen, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from New York University College of Arts & Science and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. After his ophthalmology residency training, Dr. Cohen completed advanced fellowship training in the treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous at the University of Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Cohen was the Co-Director of the Retina-Vitreous Service at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was the Principal Investigator in several National Eye Institute sponsored studies examining the efficacy of laser surgical treatment of diabetic retinal vascular disorders and sickle cell eye disease.
Dr. Cohen has been the past President of the New Jersey Retina Society. His current interests include clinical research, medical and surgical treatment of diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration, and the surgical treatment of macular membranes and macular holes.
