received his undergraduate degree from New York University College of Arts & Science and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. After his ophthalmology residency training, Dr. Cohen completed advanced fellowship training in the treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous at the University of Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Cohen was the Co-Director of the Retina-Vitreous Service at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was the principal investigator in several studies of retinal conditions conducted by the National Institutes of Health. He continues to be active in clinical research of the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Cohen's current interests include clinical research, medical and surgical treatment of diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration, and the surgical treatment of macular membranes and macular holes.
